Job Title:  Party On A Plate Customer Ambassador.

Role Type:  Commission.

Reports to:  Owner of Party On A Plate.

Commitment:  3 months initially, flexible hours with a minimum of 7 hours per week. There is potential to extend and develop the role into a salary earning job for the right candidate at a future time.

Location:  Work from home.



Party On A Plate,, is an innovative start-up business located near Salisbury, Wiltshire. It is seeking to increase its local customer base and also begin to develop a customer base across mainland UK.


The company is aiming to recruit at least one ambassador with a sales and marketing background for this new and exciting trial initiative. They will ideally be based in Wiltshire but this is not essential. Favourable rates of commission will be paid for every successful order.

Job purpose:

  • Primary purpose: To conduct sales and marketing in a specified region and

    introduce new customers to Party On A Plate to generate sales;

  • To support the business’ online footprint, including social media;

  • To be an ambassador for Party On A Plate; represent its ethos and values;

  • To constructively feedback to the owner to assist with business growth;

  • To play a vital role in the customer experience and satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working independently to solicit party bookings;

  • Conducting research to identify target audiences;

  • Understanding the target customer and employing appropriate marketing tools;

  • Representing Party On A Plate favourably, raising awareness and increasing the

    profile and online profile of the business including social media footprint;

  • Remaining in regular contact with the owner;

  • An undertaking to meet the minimum commitment each week and to proactively

    inform the owner in advance of any planned absences such as holidays.

Person specification:

We are looking for an individual(s) who is enthusiastic about Party On A Plate as a start up business, understands the concept and can bring energy and drive to sales and potential customer engagement.

This role would particularly suit someone who has a background in sales and marketing, understands the pressures of parenthood and is looking for a soft return to employment, or to bring in some additional income, without requiring a salaried job. Equally this role may appeal to someone with sales and marketing training, who is looking to gain experience and can demonstrate that they meet the role specification.

You will be professional, reliable, self-driven, positive, enjoy communicating with people and be able to give at least 7 hours per week commitment to the role. The successful applicant(s) will be able to demonstrate that they have a balanced routine around which they can ably manage this commitment.

Skills and experience:



  • Exceptional communication skills;

  • Able to work independently and achieve results with confidence and positivity;

  • Strong inter-personal skills including tact and diplomacy, understanding the

    customer always comes first;

  • Reliable and committed;

  • Highly organised;

  • Competent IT skills with access to a computer and phone;

  • Previous sales and marketing experience, backed up with evidence of results;

  • Knowledge and understanding of Party On A Plate and empathy with its ethos and values.


  • Have experience of children’s parties;

  • Previous experience providing customer service;

  • Website design experience using Wix or similar;

  • Capable of using social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook;

  • Good at collaborating and able to identify and feedback opportunities for

    development and improvement;

  • Good at researching information;

  • Live in Wiltshire or neighbouring county, or region that would be particularly well

    suited to Party On A Plate in terms of demographic.
